No, OpenInsight's U2 connector is so seamless that once the connection is made, OpenInsight sees and treats the U2 data as if it were native OpenInsight tables. Reports, Forms, Windows, and Programs will all work the same way, without any need for changes or recompilation.
On the back end, yes. If OpenInsight is running on a Windows or Linux desktop and can communicate to the U2 database via TCP/IP, then there should be no problem. However, we have not tested every possible back end, so your mileage may vary.
