OpenInsight for the Web (O4W) is one of several web technologies available from Revelation Software.  Offering all kinds of software developers and end users with a
flexible and powerful web development toolkit for OpenInsight, O4W is one of the easiest database driven web development solutions available.

The O4W development toolkit makes it possible for developers, with limited or no HTML/XML/JavaScript experience to develop feature rich web applications.  It also enables OpenInsight developers to extend their existing Revelation based applications to the web easier than before.  O4W is designed to work the way OpenInsight developers think, taking advantage of the skills and knowledge they already have.  While users with more web development experience can use O4W's advanced features, any software developer can create modern web applications (using JavaScript, XHTML, and AJAX) through O4W's APIs.

OpenInsight for Web (O4W) is feature rich and the toolset includes the ability to create and modify Users, Menus, Forms, Reports, Dashboards and Procedures.  In addition, the O4W Toolkit provides system administraors with the ability to manage their O4W web application from a browser interface.  This includes maintaining Applications, Tables and Procedures.

The entire O4W toolset is included with OpenInsight version 9.2 and higher, enabling developers to create standalone, LAN, WAN and now Web interefaces from one toolset.  Developers need purchase nothing more to build and test O4W solutions locally.  Only when the application is deployed to the web server, is a Web Server License is required for OECGI2 or OECGI3.

O4W uses advanced web technologies to deliver an interactive and dynamic web experience.  For the best results, users and developers should use the most current versions of their web browser.  At the time of writing this page, the versions were:

Chrome 3+, Firefox 3+, IE 8+, Opera 9+, Safari 3+

Developers and users may choose to use older versions of their web browser, at the risk of reduced functionality.  Developers who choose to support these older browsers should carefully test any plugins and functionality that their web sites may rely upon.  Minimally acceptable versions are:

Chrome 1+, Firefox 2+, IE 6+, Opera 9+, Safari 3+.
