Punctuated by a coffee break, Mike Ruane, President of Revelation Software, will take the morning session to talk about the company in general and give us an update of what has been going on globally and, more importantly, what we have planned for OpenInsight going forward. This is the prefect opportunity for attendees to express their application development needs to Mike in person. He will also take a look at the forthcoming OpenInsight version 9.0 and show the new forms designer, system editor and the brand new WebOI. If he has time, he might also drop into interfacing with Google for maps, charts and more.
Following
lunch, Andrew McAuley will take a look at Profiling OpenInsight applications. This session will help any OpenInsight developer who needs to maximise performance from their systems and avoid any troublesome bottlenecks.
The last session of the day will be taken by Bill Caisley. Bill will look at using IBM's Universe or Unidata as a backend to an OpenInsight application. He will run through the configuration of the U2 connector, create a simply data entry form using Universe as the backend and he will also look at how developers interact with Universe programs, etc. This session will be a must for anyone looking to put a GUI onto an existing Universe of Unidata system, and also those Revelation users who would like to utilise Universe as a backend to their systems, or maybe introduce the IBM name into their sales proposals.
In recent events and the newsletters, we have discussed ARev32 long and hard. However, the registration form has an option for registrants to request another review of the conversion process using the ARev3.12 SAMPLE application and also to see what is possible following the conversion.
The final period, between 15:00 and 16:00 will provide attendees with an opportunity to casually share ideas, discuss Revelation and business topics with fellow developers and users.
