Universal Driver Heavy
The Universal Driver Heavy (UDH) is Revelation Software's premium network product. It is designed to maximise performance across deployed Revelation systems and reduce system downtime as a result of hardware, network and other IT related failures, thus increasing the user's productivity across the business.
The UDH provides two key benefits to the business, as well as enhanced system administration through the new LH Server Management module, which forms part of the product.
Mirroring
During normal operation users write data to the first of two servers (Primary), files can be excluded if chosen and the UDH then seamlessly writes the data to a second server (Mirror).
Should the Primary server be unable to communicate with the Mirror server, the UDH will automatically 'fall over' into journaling mode and notify the system administrator. Once the error has been rectified the system will synchronise all transactions between servers.
In the event of a system failure that effects the primary server, the users can be quickly rerouted to the mirror server and be back up and running again within minutes.
Point In Time Backup
The Primary server can be automatically or manually put into 'journaling' mode, making the Mirror server available for a full point in time backup. No longer do system managers of 24 x 7 systems need to worry about issues with open file backups and files that have changed whilst being backed up.
